So, the folks at Gloria Ferrer decided to do something
new with having Muscat in the mix instead of the traditional
Pinot Munier, but it does add a slight interesting twist to
the mix. I was just telling Katey, a bartender at Vintage
in Philly about what makes a traditional Champagne, and here
this one comes along. 89% Pinot Noir, 8% Chardonnay and 3%
Muscat, this has something of a backtaste of butter, which
takes away the crisp melon that you get normally from method
champagnoise.
I will tell you, I like their Grand Cuvee a lot better,
as no matter what they tried, they didn't capture the magic
there. Some of of you might like this, but I give the GC a
solid ten.
